CARIBBEAN EMBASSY

Floating over the landscape, the building is articulated as a light two-story louvered porch. An elevated north facing porch takes advantage of the ocean views and provides a communal gathering space for the embassy community. The apparent height of the building is reduced to two stories by integrating the lowest level into the stone landscape at the ground plane and treating the main entry level as a reveal, letting the two office floors become the dominant volume. The uppermost level is set back from the primary streets minimizing its impact on the apparent overall height.
